Villa holidays in Португалија

Discover Portugal

Portugal combines Atlantic coastline, historic towns, traditional food and an easy-going holiday atmosphere. In the south, the Algarve is especially known for golden beaches, dramatic cliffs and seaside communities, making it a natural choice for a villa holiday.

Our Portugal villas are currently located throughout the Algarve, with properties in areas such as Albufeira, Vilamoura, Vale de Parra, Guia, Porches, Quarteira and other coastal and countryside locations.

Staying in a private villa gives you the flexibility to shape each day around your plans. Head out early to explore, stop for a long lunch near the coast or keep the afternoon completely free for your pool and outdoor space.

Why choose Portugal for a villa holiday?

A holiday in Portugal can be as relaxed or active as you want it to be. The Algarve alone has around 230 kilometres of coastline and more than 130 beaches, alongside golf courses, walking routes, historic towns and natural areas.

You might spend one day swimming beneath golden cliffs and the next visiting a traditional town or taking a boat trip along the coast. For families and groups, a villa also provides the convenience of separate bedrooms, self-catering facilities and your own space to spend time together.

Where to stay in the Algarve

Albufeira

Albufeira is one of the Algarve’s best-known holiday areas, combining sandy beaches with restaurants, shops and a lively atmosphere. Nearby beaches include São Rafael, Santa Eulália, Oura and Salgados, giving you plenty of choice when you want a day beside the sea.

It is a good option for travellers who like having plenty of amenities and different beaches within easy reach.

Vilamoura

Vilamoura is centred around its marina and offers beaches, restaurants, golf and a wide choice of leisure facilities. The area works well for visitors who enjoy having plenty to do close to their accommodation while still being able to spend quieter days at their villa.

Vale de Parra

Vale de Parra offers a more relaxed setting close to the coast, with countryside surroundings and easy access to beaches around Galé and Salgados. It is worth considering if you prefer staying outside a busy resort while remaining within reach of restaurants and seaside attractions. BeachVillas currently has several properties in this area.

Guia

Guia is an inland village surrounded by Algarve countryside, yet still within driving distance of the coast. It is particularly associated with traditional restaurants and provides a quieter alternative to staying directly in one of the larger beach resorts.

Porches

Porches offers a quieter Algarve setting close to some of the region’s most striking coastline. From here, you can explore beaches around Lagoa and the central Algarve while returning to a more peaceful base at the end of the day.

Quarteira

Quarteira sits on the coast beside Vilamoura and is known for its long beachfront and local restaurants. It can work well for visitors who want straightforward access to the sea while remaining close to the attractions and marina around Vilamoura.

Best places to visit in the Algarve

Lagos

Lagos combines beaches with an attractive historic centre and some of the Algarve’s most recognisable coastal scenery. Nearby Ponta da Piedade is known for its cliffs, caves and unusual rock formations, which can also be explored by boat.

Ponta da Piedade

Close to Lagos, Ponta da Piedade is one of the Algarve’s standout natural sights. Golden rock formations rise from the Atlantic, with caves and arches shaped by the sea. Viewpoints above the cliffs provide another way to enjoy the landscape if you do not want to take a boat trip.

Faro

Faro is more than simply the Algarve’s airport city. Its historic centre, traditional streets and waterfront make it worth exploring, especially if you want a day away from the beach.

It also sits close to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, one of southern Portugal’s most important natural areas.

Silves

Silves offers a change from the coastal resorts, with historic streets and a prominent castle reflecting the Algarve’s long history. It is a good option for a half-day or day trip when you want to see more of the region away from the beach.

Ria Formosa

The Ria Formosa Natural Park stretches along the eastern Algarve and includes lagoons, channels and barrier islands. Boat trips and walking routes offer opportunities to discover its wildlife and quieter coastal scenery.
